Yeezy Gap doesn't size like a normal brand. Most of the Engineered by Balenciaga range is cut big on purpose, a few pieces are cut short, and the sizes on the tag don't always tell you which. Here's how it actually fits, pulled from Yeezy Gap's own size charts, reviews and owners on Reddit.
The short version
- Most Engineered by Balenciaga tops are oversized. Your usual size gets you the big, intended look. One size down gets you a more regular fit. Yeezy Gap printed it on the tags of the Dove tees and Logo Hoodie: “SIZE DOWN FOR REGULAR FIT”.
- Some pieces are regular fit. The two Shrunken Hoodies, the Perfect Hoodie, the Crop Dove Fleece Tee and both cargo pants. Take your usual size.
- Short pieces stay short. The Perfect Hoodie and the Round Jacket are cropped by design. Sizing up mostly adds width, not length, so never size down on these if you're tall.
- The yardstick. On almost every Engineered by Balenciaga listing, Yeezy Gap's 6'2" (188 cm), 170 lb (77 kg) model and 5'8" (173 cm), 115 lb (52 kg) model both wore a medium.
How to check your size
Grab a top you like the fit of and lay it flat. Measure straight across, armpit to armpit, then from the shoulder down to the hem. Compare that to the chart on the product page. Yeezy Gap's “width” is measured flat the same way, so it lines up.
One thing to know: on the Engineered by Balenciaga charts, sleeve length is measured from the centre of the back, so it reads longer than a normal sleeve measurement.

Perfect Hoodie
Regular fit, slightly cropped. Take your usual size. It's wide and short on purpose: from M up it's about as wide as it is long. XS fits like a women's XS to S, S like a women's S to M.

The Perfect Hoodie also came in a kids version with the same letter sizes. If one shows up tiny, check the neck tab: a kids S is nowhere near an adult S.
Round Jacket
Very wide and short by design. Take your usual size. If you're tall or long in the body, stay true to size or go up, never down.

The Round Jacket 2 and the Long Round Jacket are longer in every size. Take your usual size in both.
Engineered by Balenciaga tees and hoodies
The Dove 3/4 Sleeve, Dove Longsleeve and Logo tees, the Logo Hoodie and the Polar Fleece Padded Hoodie are all oversized. Usual size for the boxy look, one down for regular. They're big: a medium Logo Hoodie is about 32" (81 cm) across.
“SIZE DOWN FOR REGULAR FIT”
The Dove and Logo Shrunken Hoodies are the exception: regular width, cut a little short. Take your usual size.
Fleece Back Yoke Tee
Wide, boxy and cropped. Size down one, unless you're layering it over a hoodie. Gap never sold it in store, so there's no official chart, but owners agree it runs big.

Cargo pants
Both the Sateen and Cordura cargos are regular fit. Take your usual jeans waist size. The Sateen Cargo inseam is 31½" (80 cm) in every size, so tall people should expect them at or just above the ankle.
YZY Pods
Size 1 fits US 6 to 8.5, size 2 fits US 9 to 10.5, size 3 fits US 11 to 13. It's a stretch knit, so owners lean small: between a 10 and an 11, most take a 2.

About the size letters
Yeezy Gap used letters, XS to XXL (XXS to XXXL on some pieces), and waist sizes on the pants. The 1, 2, 3 sizing is from YZY, not Yeezy Gap. If you've seen a 0 to 4 scale for the Perfect Hoodie, we couldn't find any record of it.
